Oct 2nd, 2009 by Admin
Pat has recently been announced as the Advisor to the USTA’s National Team, which is comprised of an elite group of USTA prospects as well as several pros currently on the tour.
The mission of the USTA Player Development Program is to develop world-class American players through a clearly defined training structure and competitive pathway as well as through the implementation of a comprehensive coaching philosophy and structure. The USTA Training Centers are one piece of the puzzle to accomplish this mission.
Pat will be developing a national training philosophy for player development to be sure that all the members of the National Team are physically fit to perform at their highest level. Pat consults with USTA’s High Performance Coaches to evaluate their individual players needs and develop training programs for them that are then monitored by the coaches and trainers. All this to achieve the USTA’s desired goal: “To elevate the level of High Performance Coaching in the United States with the intent of facilitating the development of world-class American tennis Champions.”
Pat travels to the USTA Training Centers in Boca Raton, FL and Carson, CA, several times a year to work with players and coaches. He just came back from 3 days at Boca, and will be in Carson, CA, the 20th - 22nd of October.
