• Gisela Dulko defeated Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 6-2.
• Ernests Gulbis retired to Julien Benneteau 6-4, 6-2, 1-0.
• Justine Henin defeated Tsvetana Pironkova 6-4, 6-3.
• Jelena Jankovic beat Alicia Molik 6-0, 6-4.
• Daniela Hantuchova defeated Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-1, 6-1.
